Terrace Café, Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh

1 Dec

Score: 3/5

Great For: Somewhere to sit whilst the kids play

Price: Cappuccino £2.25; Tea £1.95; Cake £ 1.80

If you have young children, I doubt there is a more child friendly café in Edinburgh.  They have a play area in the main room, and a large garden outside so you can sit drinking tea with a friend whilst the children play outside.  However, this is not the best spot to chill out and while away the hours if you are without child.  They do have a fabulous outdoor seating area, but inside it has a canteen feel which isn’t all that nice and whilst a background noise of children playing might be music to some ears, I’m afraid it isn’t to mine at to mine (yet).  The tea and cakes are very average, but not expensive.

If you do happen to be visiting the Gardens (and I would thoroughly recommend it) and want to sit down and have a cup of coffee, I’d suggest Circle, a café only a 5 minute walk from the Gardens (more about this establishment later).
